Set on an elevated site in the area of Agioi Anargyroi, in Paros island, with panoramic views of the bay, the residence integrates into the Cycladic landscape – its traditional architecture, distinctive terrain and sparse vegetation. Conceived as a cohesive ensemble, the project comprises a five-bedroom holiday house and an independent guest residence.
The design focuses on two main principles: interpreting the site’s morphology and visual relationship to the sea, and the reinterpretation of Cycladic architectural elements through a contemporary lens. The aim is to frame multiple vistas and establish an ever-changing dialogue between built form and the surrounding landscape.
Within the landscape, stone walls of varying heights guide movement and frame a gradual approach to the house. The architectural composition unfolds across two levels, where linear volumes open onto a sequence of outdoor spaces — pergolas, patios, and roof terraces — creating a fluid connection between interior and exterior activity.
A network of patios and corridors, at the back zone of the complex, organizes the main circulation axis, linking enclosed spaces into a dynamic sequence of distinct yet continuous volumes. This linearity is interrupted by the main living volume, shifted towards the sea, aligning the connecting patio and the swimming pool as well.
At the heart of the house lies the defining feature of the project – the pergola. Functioning as the core of the residence, it becomes both a spatial and social connector. A covered common space for outdoor living, fully open to the landscape, framing uninterrupted sea views and offering direct access to the swimming pool.
